Tarot
I’m a devotee of Tarot cards, and have been for years. They have an amazing history, some saying they go all the way back to their creation in Italy at the height of the Renaissance.
I learnt to read them in a coven with my father when I was 12. In my adult years I refreshed my knowledge under a High Priestess, and then became a High Priestess & Tarot Teacher myself.
All such esoteric arts, such as magic, tarot, astrology and spells work on the basis of secrets known only to initiates, esoteric knowledge held closely to the inner ranks of the cognoscenti. This works by placing the universality of the art or craft or knowledge, into the hands of a few who then determine who they will initiate.
The effect of this is to concentrate the entirety of the Art into the cards of a tarot deck, so that each card acts as a representative of a person, a place or an event.
So there are two types of card:
the Major Arcana which represent deeply hidden secrets; and the Minor Arcana which can be more generally known.
Major Arcana Cards.
The Major Arcana cards stand alone representing significant life-altering motions, which determine the beginnings and the ends of moments of transformation. They represent ground breaking influences. When these important cards appear during major changes in circumstances, they signal dramatic alterations within the life of the subject. The cards are numbered to represent aspects of the subject’s life journey and their order chronologically reveals the passage of time.
Minor Arcana Cards
The Minor Arcana cards, conversely, reflect everyday matters. These cards highlight ordinary people engaging in day-to-day activities, such as dancing, drinking, sleeping, or quarrelling. They presage action that is triggered by human behaviours and appear during gentle transitions that may be temporary or have only minor influence.
Wands symbolize passion and inspiration (corresponding with the fire element), Pentacles represent money and physical realities (corresponding with the earth element), Swords depict intellectual intrigues (corresponding with the air element), and Cups illustrate emotional matters (corresponding with the water element). These suits reveal which spheres of influence are being activated, offering guidance on how to best manage any circumstances at hand.
The Minor Arcana cards are broken up into four suits, each containing ten numbered cards and four court cards.
In the Minor Arcana, the card's number reveals the stage of an event: The ace card represents the beginning, while the 10 symbolizes the end. Similarly, the progression of the court cards demonstrates our understanding of circumstances on an individual level, representing either personality types or actual people.
The Page (or Princess, in some decks), Knight, Queen, and King interpret circumstances with increasing levels of understanding and wisdom.
The Swords card is among the Minor Arcana cards.
The suits (Wands, Pentacles, Swords, and Cups) correspond to their own unique areas of life and astrological elements.
Before any Tarot readings with my clients I ask that you remove your shoes, ground your feet and find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. You will then be put into a meditative state through breath work & visualisation.
Only then will I shuffle or "clear" the deck I have chosen especially for you.
This deliberate gesture connects the right pathways between you, me, "your channellor" and the spirit world.
When I feel the physicality of the cards in my hand, I am able to visualize your question, or my question, to the spirit realm and contact will occur.
This direct channel assists me to get to the root of your situation and help me formulate specific queries for you.
I will take as long as I need, regardless of time and money.
When we are together harnessing the secrets of the Tarot deck as it relates to you and your specific needs, then time becomes irrelevant, and there will be NO EXTRA FEE.
An authentic reader will be more concerned with TRUTH than monetary reward.
